Devil Inside You

Looking at the mirror of cold abominable lies,

can you see the ugliness of the bare truth?

Desperately dancing to the hollow tune -

why has hatred become the driving emotion?

Suspicion running deep in the pulsating veins;

the world is turning into a pitiable sight.

What does your fast beating heart search for

in this dangerous haze of gloom and sorrow?

The moon burns with the blood of vengeance,

and the spilled light has blotted out the stars.

In this air thick with passion for bloodlust,

why do you roam around with that wild look?

Why does the mirror show an emotionless face?

So, what is your heart’s darkest desires?

Whew, I think I really loved the way this flowed. No wonder I like Death Note’s tracks so much, lol. ( Though I think that there’s just a hell lot compressed into the lyrics there, especially in ZB; kinda gets suffocating. ) Hopefully, it does act as a good counterpart to that poem-let I wrote. -frown-

PS : Oh, the name was derived from the drama ( I think it’s either Chinese or Korean… not really sure as both the languages are unknown to me ) ‘Devil Beside You’. I totally loved the track ‘Chou Nan Ren’ from it~

    heart’s darkest desire… wow, loved that phrase. And yeah, really nice poem, can be related with many lovable people~ xDD

    Short and (hardly) sweet, could do well for an anime’s OP/Ed, eh? :P

      Haha, thanks for the compliments! Erm, I just don’t really like rhyming – the reason why it’s almost always absent from my poems. But yeah, will try to come up with something the conventional way.
