About

For an introduction, I’m a nice little girl ( no grins, please :D ), put up in the western regions of India. I usually go by the name of Jade Phoenix at forums and likes, and really prefer it online to my original name. It’s something that… sorta… connects to me after being used for such a long time now. I’m often asked how I came up with it, but really, I don’t remember ‘exactly’ how did it hit me. I guess it does have something to do with the fact that I used to admire phoenixes a lot ( from the lores and legends I read ), and later on, a fav anime character of mine owned a phoenix bitbeast. As for the ‘Jade’ part, that might be because I love the way it is said. Not that I like jades as such or anythin’. I prefer sapphires more. :D But ‘Sapphire Phoenix’ just doesn’t sound right, does it now? ;P

I’m pursuing my second year at graduation in engineering currently, and had previously taken a drop for an year to do as I please. The drop was both, beneficial and not-so-good for me. But considering the finer points, I’d say it was one of the loveliest years of my life. Now, I’m pursuing IT, and it’s one hell of a thing too. Not that it’s that tough, it’s just loads of fun. Got cool friends, awesome courses, and best of all, I’m studying the stuff that I’ve always loved. I’m very interested in writing and designing, so of course, those are my two major hobbies. Add to that my undying love for animated stuff. Or simply cartoons. Well, except that I prefer the Japanese version – it’s just loads more Asian-based thinking. Thinking, majorly, lol. And the animes and mangas are loads more mature and real-life-ish than any of their Eastern counterparts. Not that the Eastern animation’s bad… some of their movies rock! But I don’t really support it in general. Each to his own, kinda. As for other hobbies, it’d include reading stories ( fantasies and science fiction, mostly ) and listening to music ( like, permanently – even when I’m sleeping ). It’s all just inter-linked if you see the big picture… lol, maybe the child in me refuses to grow up and lose its likes and instincts to the drudge of the adult world. But this is how I know I’m going to stay unless I just lose myself somewhere along the path. :)

So I wanted to study Management and get into the animation industry. Primarily. Of course, there were many other things I’d like to do along as well. But the former could be called my ‘ambition’. But at the moment, I’m not too sure if that is what I really want to do. There are just so many other interesting prospects that I don’t really feel like sticking to a single one. Of course, I know I’ll have to choose one in the end as my major career thingy. If I can work it out, then I will go with the writing one. But if that doesn’t click for me, then it is the designing and animation one for me. I don’t wish to actually make the cartoons ( or animes, preferably ); I’m more interested in the content development, story board making, and marketing and advertising in this industry. I really think that there’s a great market demand of such stuff in India, but not sufficient and efficient supply, which I dream to achieve to some extent. Animation has been my source of fascination ever since I was a small kid smart enough to watch TV and understand what’s going on, and I hope to continue pursuing it in future as well ( even if it is not the major field for me ). This is the reason why I need to do all the stuff I’m doing right now. To develop a better and more complete perspective about this industry, and about the lores and trends prevalent.

I guess I can go on and on about this particular topic :D, but I guess this much’s enough for a starter. The rest will be archived in my blog accordingly. Now something about my family and friends.

I guess I do have a pretty close-knit family, even though sparks fly often. There have been misunderstandings and clashes in the past, but well, you’ve got to move on. Not that you do forget the pain. But I believe it’s a part of life. My dad’s a doc in the government, and so was my grandfather in his time. Bro’s an IIM-A postgraduate ( and that’s one option for me too, hee ), and is currently managing a company of his own. It’s not that well settled as of yet, given that he started from the scratch without any financial capital backup, but he’s a real fighter and is getting better and better at it. Dad’s got some problems with it, but I think that they won’t really get solved as there isn’t much to do about them. Things have always been like this so we remain a lovely family over all other differences. Hope so anyway. My mom is a really sweet person. She’s a homemaker ( which I don’t understand as she’s studied a hell lot! ), and a really good cook. The best thing I love about my family is the honesty which flows in the blood of everyone. Except me, maybe. I’m honest to quite some extent, but I can be devious if I wish to be. Dunno, but nobody else in my family is like that. Whatever.

Hmm, so that’s about it. There’re a whole lot more things I’d like to mention, but that would have to be for the blog posts, lol.

Ja ne~!
